Commercial unclaimed property records are pulled from official state controller bulk data, starting with California's complete State Controller archive. Records are normalized against a canonical schema — holder name, property type, claim amount, last-known-address, and report year resolved to consistent values. Non-business and individual claimants are filtered before delivery.

Texas and other state captures are added as state-by-state ingestion completes. All data is sourced from public-domain state government archives — no scraping of restricted or login-gated portals.
Owner names are normalized using multi-pass processing: legal suffix expansion and phonetic matching. Where Secretary of State records are publicly accessible, entities are cross-referenced against SOS filings to add registered entity identifiers. SOS coverage is provided as an overlay; not every record carries an SOS-resolved identifier. Resolution confidence is included where applicable so you can weight each row in your workflow.
When two records resolve to the same entity, the higher-confidence row is retained and the lower-confidence row is suppressed.
Primary tier ($5,000+ exact values): 35,389 records. Stratified into premium ($250K+), mid ($25K-$249K), and low ($5K-$24K) bands. Budget tier ($500-$4,999): 338,672 records in five bands (floor/low/mid/high/top budget). Trophy tier: 120 records with face value $250,000 or greater, available by individual inquiry only. Consumer records, individual SSNs, and residential addresses are excluded from all tiers. Sole proprietorships without formal entity registration are also excluded.
